My Personal Journey with Stem Cells
My journey with stem cells began in 2004, after graduating with my Medical Doctorate at Dr. Manuel Gea Gonzalaz Hospital in Mexico City, I worked on research that used these cells from bone marrow to heal skull injuries in rabbits. Stem cells were special because they could help the body fix itself, which felt more natural than traditional medicine.  Stem Cells fascinated me, as they were a different approach then typical medicine in that they enable the body to heal itself, and that they are naturally occurring in our bodies.  It seemed to me at the time as a medical healing approach that was more aligned with our natural body function.

Years later, I met Jason, my future husband. He was an athlete, full of life, and we shared a love for skiing. We settled down close to a ski area in Minnesota, enjoying our new life together. But then, three and a half years into our marriage, I received a devastating phone call that I will never forget. Jason had been in a horrific car crash caused by a drunk driver. He was left with multiple fractured bones and tissue injury including: 5 ribs, pelvis, 3 in his left hand, left wrist, left shoulder, right tibia/tibia plateau/femur, major issues in his right elbow that required relocating his ulnar nerve in that arm, torn labrum in the left shoulder, and a moderate to severe traumatic brain injury.

Our world was turned upside down. Needless to say, this accident forever changed our lives. Jason spent 2 years doing traditional therapies, surgeries, physical therapy, cognitive therapy, vision therapy, acupuncture, vestibular therapy, light therapy, cranial sacral therapy, and chiropractic therapies. Still, he was in pain, unable to enjoy sports, drive, or even handle light and noise. His life was filled with severe migraines and double vision. Everything we took for granted was now a struggle. Three years after the accident, and struggling to stay optimistic with his healing, Jason asked me if I thought stem cell therapy should be something that we try.

Remembering my research days, I felt a spark of hope. I dove back into the science, got trained, and we used stem cell therapy for Jason. The results were nothing short of miraculous. In just four months, his vision cleared, the migraines and other symptoms nearly vanished. This experience was a turning point for me. The experience helped me understand the limitations of traditional medicine and the incredible potential of stem cells. It inspired me to open the Biostem Health clinic in Sayulita. I knew that from this point forward I would dedicate my life to helping others find healing, just like Jason did, through the power of stem cell therapy.

Devastation Strikes
